These moments happen to me more often than I care to share. Today was the ultimate. Let's start back, way back to when I was about 8. My mom signed me up for piano lessons, which I ended up taking for 10 years. One of the greatest things that has been a long part of my life. Playing the piano was my escape. I could pound on the keys and they would not get hurt, or mad at me. If I was feeling blue, I could slow things down. Happy days, happy music. The piano and I are wonderful friends.
Fast forward to today. Every Sunday I get to sing with the children at church. I am one of the lucky Primary Music Directors for the church we go to and I love it. Also, on each Sunday, I get to play the piano for closing so there isn't lots of switching around.
I sat down as usual to play the song 'Love One Another.' I looked at the music, then I looked at the keys and I couldn't do it. It was like trying to read a foreign language. I couldn't find Middle C. I couldn't do anything. If the world would have depended on me playing that song to save it, well, it wouldn't exist anymore. Sad, sad day. Thank goodness there were some other women that could play and they took over for me.
I did get home and play the song later on, so not all is lost. Phew.

In Serious Need of a Camera
Can I just tell you the frustrations of not having a camera around when you need it. Well, I just had one of those moments....
I had just put the boys to bed, and could hear them quietly chatting as I finished the dishes. I was just relishing in the sound of them enjoying each others' company. Such a wonderful peaceful feeling. I should have known they were up to something.
That's when the Noodle came down and asked where his blanket was. I told him and as he was walking down the stairs he started to giggle. I looked at him and what did I see?
A huge pair of pajama shorts. He had stuffed his stuffed animals in them. It looked so funny I couldn't stop laughing, and then the tears started to roll. (These were not just pregnancy tears. It was really funny.) He is such a bean pole, his bum was totally out of character being so big.
Two seconds later, not to be outdone the Chief came down with even bigger ones in his shorts. His front leg was about the size of my 6 month pregnant belly. It was huge!!! Plus he had a few in the back. We just laughed and laughed. My belly hurts.
I so wish I could have had my camera for that one.

Another Day in Paradise
As of late my handsome hubby, who shall be know on this blog as 'Supremo' has been working tons. Lots of rain has been pushing back the potato work that has to be done. So I am still pretty much on what I like to call 'Single Mother Status.' (Let me just say, WOW to all the single parents out there. I don't know how you do it.) It's not my favorite, but we make it work. My little monsters (The dog included) are always thinking of ways to push my buttons and the last few days have been no exception.
*The Diva had to sharpen a pencil with the new battery powered (I know, we are getting high tech) sharpener. Me not being all there, let her do it on the edge of the counter. (So actually this is my fault.) The boys had been going sharpener crazy so the thing was full. Well, the Diva got mad when she had to stop and whacked the sharpener off the counter. Shavings went everywhere, including the dog's water bowl. (He will still be know as Graham on this blog.) What a mess.
* Graham decided that he needed to go to the bathroom on the Noodle's bed. Gross with a capital "G"
*Chief has one pair of shoes right now. I know, but I hate spending money on things that he grows out of so fast. I think if we lived in the middle of no where I would let him run around in the buff. Back to what I was writing about. He decided that he needed to go dancing in the mud. Gorgeous shoes for church.
*The Noodle has been throwing these crazy tantrums. I mean CRAZY. We had an issue this morning about no whipped cream in the chocolate milk, with the spilling of the chocolate milk as the ultimate result.
*The Diva discovered how to open her door, and nap time disappeared at the same time. (It was such a sad day.)
More has happened this week, but due to pregnancy brain, I just can't remember.
Today has been nice though. We only had a morning tantrum, Chief only whacked the dog...Just once too. (My dog is so good to those monsters.) The Diva didn't take a nap, but hasn't been totally crazy. The best part!!! The Noodle put on his baking apron, and with little supervision made snickerdoodles!
Not only was that totally impressive, but he had to cut the recipe in half- and he did it! (We are homeschooling this Summer to see if we like it. This was part of his math. More on that later.)
So the Green Momster survived the Sabbath with only morning tears. Tears that come much more often due to the hormones. Woot for a new week!
I am seriously still searching for my camera. The Diva hid it somewhere, and I have no clue where to even begin. Some of these photos are outdated.

Maybe not everything
So in the last post I wrote about how much I like new hair cuts. I got one yesterday. Let's just say that I don't love new hair cuts as much any more. Here are some of the cons to having to get your curly hair cut.
* They don't teach people how to cut curly hair in beauty school. I went I know. If you ask me this should be mandatory. Curly and straight don't cut the same. First off, they comb your curls straight so many times that when you get done your curls have gone into shock. Mine were hating me yesterday.
* Everyone who has gone to beauty school gives you a cut that would look so cute if you straighten your hair. Well, I have embraced my curls and the personality that comes with them. (I had to do this when we lived on the East side of the U.S. The humidity just doesn't love curls) I don't want to straighten them.
* You have to care for curls so very different from straight hair. Very, very little shampoo. Like once a week. Tons of conditioner without silicone in it. The people that do your hair could really care less. They went to school and this is what they learned. So my hair was in tears as the lady washed my hair with tons of shampoo and then totally rinsed out any and all the conditioner she put in. (Which was not enough.)
* Then they put some styling product in your hair and tell you how it won't frizz. Never, ever has that worked for me. I usually end up coming home and doing my hair all over. If I don't I have Charlie Bucket hair. (You know the kid from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.)
So last night I was laughing in hysterics, because my hair cut looked just like my little Diva's hair, except it looks really cute on a 2 year old, not so much on me. This morning I was in tears bawling because I look like I have helmet hair. Not even kidding. And this was after I took the time to style it. I would take a picture and show you, but I cannot find my camera. I am in search of mine that I lost and also a new one. A bigger one that can't get lost.
Now I have to wait until it grows out before I can do anything other than a ponytail with it again. I think I will just stick to cutting my individual curls by myself. Also, I do not feel pretty when I am pregnant, so this just added to feeling like the 'Green Momster.'

New Blog
I like new things. New hair cut, new jeans, okay so pretty much everything new. So this is the new blog. I am excited and hoping that this one will include lots of pictures as well as just fun all around. As a mom of almost 4, things may get a bit hectic around the homestead. I am hoping to share with everyone the fun things that go on around here, as well as letting you honestly know when I just had a 'Green Moment.' I hope you enjoy the ride!
